Anders- a book critic known for the weary, elegant savagery with which he dispatched almost everything he reviewed, highlights that Anders is a person with bad mood as well as a bad temper. At the initial stage, one can think that he was irritated due to the tow women standing in front of him. Later, it was realized, he was a person with ill temper and annoyed about everything that surrounded him. People were almost tired of his attitudes even towards the robbers that led him towards shot to dead. The author suddenly shifted the focus towards the childhood memories when he was not at all judgmental towards others. His character was even referred as the emblem of a mysterious person who always judged others. Ann essence of the sarcastic characteristic is also presented by the description of the author. Throughout the text, Anders was portrayed as the unsympathetic characters. This focus suddenly shifted to the sympathetic stage when he was shot dead (Wordsunlimited.typepad.com, 2017). It generally happened since the narrator brought the time back to his childhood when he was a simple and free from judgmental humors unlike others. However, it is important to state that the character even presented the extraordinary sense of humor, be it in the negative way. He had the complete sense of sarcasm that is not always presented in others characters. If the character is judged by the point of view of Anders himself, it can be clearly noticed that there are other people exist with the similar characteristics. It becomes quite tough for others to understand the point of view of others. Especially, when they cannot even place themselves in the shoes of others, it becomes very tough to judge (Public.wsu.edu, 2017). The irritations and mockery presented in the characteristic of Anders generally depicted that he wanted to live in peace and perfections. When the narrator shifted his story back to the early childhood, the readers started understanding his situation. He took one moment to criticize a wall painting when he had gun pointing to his head. He even remained much disobedient until the moment he was shot to dead. Another major style presented in this short story is the promptness and clarity. The graphical details that the author had put in the sequence of bullet entering and exiting the brain was quite clearly illustrated. His uncaring attitude towards everything was unique and sarcastic. He did not hesitate in front of the robbers and stood firm to his point of view. Even the gunman was irritated due to his uncaring attitude. The gunman stated, Hey, you deaf or what? You think Im playing games? Again the gunman shouted, Whats so funny, bright boy? You think Im comical, you think Im some kind of clown? These words seemed frightened to others, but it did not create any sense fear within Anders (Pov.imv.au.dk, 2017). Hence, it reveals the mockery attitudes of the protagonist in this short story. The analysis of the short story finds out the characteristic of Anders, who is the main character and the famous book critic. He was presented as the critic in the real life as well. The use of the mockery and sarcastic words towards the women, wall painting, and towards the robbers even are specified much prominently. This characteristic is promptly highlighted throughout the story by the way Anders mocked everything that surrounded him.
